T1 Tax Preparation
Are you currently in Canada or did you come on a working holiday visa? Do you have a T4 slip and need to file your tax return? We’re here to help!
The Canadian tax year runs from January 1st to December 31st. Although your employer deducts taxes from your payslip, it’s still your responsibility to file your taxes to ensure the correct amount has been withheld throughout the year.
Tax season typically starts in February for the previous year (e.g., tax returns for 2024 can be filed beginning February 2025). Your return must be submitted to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) by the end of April.
If you’ve overpaid taxes, you may be eligible for a tax refund. However, if you owe additional taxes beyond what you’ve already paid, you will need to settle the balance.
We’ve been assisting working holidaymakers from Japan and are now expanding our services to include all working holidaymakers worldwide!
If you are entitled to a tax refund but plan to leave Canada before receiving it, or if you have already left Canada, we can receive the refund on your behalf. We will transfer the amount (with a $45 wire transfer fee deducted) to your bank account in your home country.
